TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF HEAD & FACIAL SWEATING

A considerable percentage of the worldwide population in billions, suffers from hyperhidrosis.  What’s this disease called hyperhidrosis?  Before finding the answer, let us discuss about perspiration.  Perspiration, also known as sweating or transpiration is a natural process of the body of humans as well as mammals, for excretion of body fluids. Normally we tend to sweat profusely when we’re doing strenuous work on when the weather is hot.  But the term which signifies sweating beyond the normal discharge is different, and it is hyperhidrosis. You are most likely to have hyperhidrosis, if you notice that you sweat excessively even in normal environment, and that only you sweat in such a manner among a roomful of people.  Such excessive sweating can occur in some parts of the body, the most common being the face, head, hands and feet.

Many people attempt to solve the problem by various methods, but still fail to get satisfactory results.  In fact, if you want to eliminate it totally, or cure it with the help of your doctor, you should find out the exact cause of this problem.  The only problem is not that of excessive facial or head sweating.  If you simply tell your doctor that you sweat a lot, it will not be of much help anyway.  Rather, it will be more helpful if you analyze the potential causes and state them to the doctor.

Let us look into the possible causes of hyperhidrosis:

•    When you’re obese or overweight, you tend to sweat excessively, i.e. you are likely to have hyperhidrosis.
•    Another possible cause for hyperhidrosis is the presence of a thyroid disorder.
•    If your family has a history of hyperhidrosis, i.e. your family members or relatives have the problem, then the cause is a hereditary factor.
•    Finally, if you consume alcohol often, then it may cause hyperhidrosis.

Keep in mind that only getting to know the cause will take you to the ideal solution.

We would recommend you to have a consultation with your doctor about the problem.  Anyhow it is all the more important that you have the information from your personal experience of the problem. One of the methods to cure hyperhidrosis is a surgical procedure.  Other methods will consist of specific procedures applied locally to the parts affected by hyperhidrosis, such as the face, head, hands and feet.

For instance, excessive facial sweating will make you uncomfortable to a great extent.  Some people with this ailment would resort to surgery, while others would prefer to use certain prescribed medications or creams. And if you happen to have excessive head sweating, it’ll be again a great problem, which will make your hair damp and smelly.  The easiest solution to this problem is taking a bath every day with a shampoo for your hair.  You should never wear a hat.  If you do so your head will start sweating again.  You can always consult your physician for the best and suitable solution for your problem.  Be calm and avoid stress.  You can surely find a way to stop your head and facial sweating.
